TOURNAMENT
RULES
All games in this tournament will be played under SHA and CHA rules
governing minor hockey.
Additional tournament rules are noted below:
(1) GAME LENGTH: All games shall consist of three 20-minute stop
time periods. There will be an ice clean prior to each game and at the
end of the second period. Where there is no maintenance scheduled between
periods, teams will change ends and start the next period.
(2) OVERTIME: There will be no overtime in round robin play.
The overtime in the finals will be sudden death. The teams will change
ends and play 20 minute stop time or until the first goal is scored.
(3) TIE BREAKING PROCEDURE: (A) Best win record in games played
between teams. (B) If still tied, best win record (C) If still tied,
best plus/minus record between tied teams (D) If still tied, best plus/minus
record in all pool games (E) If still tied, most goals scored in pool
play. (F) If still tied, the team to score the first goal in the game
between tied teams. (G) If still tied, winner will be decided by a coin
toss.
(4) MATCH PENALTIES: Any player receiving a MATCH penalty will
be suspended until the infraction is dealt with by his/ her provincial
hockey association.
(5) RULE INFRACTIONS: Score sheets will be constantly monitored
and any team caught breaking the rules will be penalized accordingly,
without an appeal by the opposing coach.
(6) REFEREES DECISIONS: Will be final in all matters pertaining
to rules, interpretations, assessment of penalties and awarding of goals
and assists.
(7) PROTESTS: Will not be allowed or considered.
(8) TEAMS: Each team shall consist of not more than 19 players.(17
skaters and two goaltenders. All personal on the bench must be recorded
on the game sheet.
(9) GAME MVP: A game MVP will be selected from each team for
all the games. Teams will line up on their blue lines at the conclusion
of each game.
(10) CENTRE RED LINE: The SHA.has adopted the international rule
of no center red line; all games will be played under this rule
